Unsurprisingly the Babcary Summer Fete, wasn’t a strawberry’s and cream sun-packed event this year, it was somewhat on the soggy side. However, considering the yukky weather there was a fairly good turnout. Thanks to the team who worked hard putting it all together, we nearly blew away whilst erecting the marquee and the very same moment we dragged the canvas over the roof the heavens opened, within a minute or two there were bucket loads of rain water collected on top of the marquee before we had even put the legs on.
Thanks to all who donated items for the White Elephant, Bottle Stall, Raffle, Craft Stall, Plants, Cakes etc and to the ladies who were serving cream teas and refreshments and all who manned the stalls bravely. Hopefully we’ll be getting pictures uploaded on here at some point to illustrate.
It was my first time at the Summer Fete and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was on Face Painting duty, which was also another first for me, so I hope all the little’uns were pleased with their monsters and butterfly faces and enjoyed it as much as I did painting them. I’m already thinking of ideas for painting Santa’s little helper’s, elves and fairy faces for Christmas.
