Babcary Summer Fete 2012

Only a few pics from me, as I was busy painting lots of tiger and butterfly faces today so I only got to take a few snaps before and after the event.  I hope you send your pics in for us to share.

Thankfully the weather was better than last year with blue skies and once again the rain held off, even if it was a bit blustery. We had a good turnout, it’s always such a lovely atmosphere and great to get out and see familiar and new smiley faces.

There was an army serving cakes and cream teas, and we had lots of stalls and games including; the white elephant, handmade crafts, cakes and plants. We had some fun new games this year most notably the medieval fruit machine with whistles blaring and colourful costumes, as well as the familiar coconut shy and plate throwing.  All in all a fab day out and another Babcary success.

Beautiful handmade crafts, textiles and knitwear from GilliBeth.

The ladies preparing the raffle, with some enticing prizes, sadly I didn’t win I really fancied that amazing fruit basket.

Or even this fine bottle of port and a massive slab of cheese.

The White Elephant stall attractively laid out with bargains galore.

Our village bakers never fail to produce gorgeous cakes, which always fly off the table getting sold out within minutes of opening.

These plants look so colourful and smell delightful, a few of them will be getting planted in my garden for sure.

…and the last few play on at the end of the day. This is probably the best village in the South West, well we all think so anyway.
